Week 1

27/09/22- 30/09/22

Got to studio. Bus was 10 mins late. Talked through christophs future plans to restart his whole brand. Stitched on labels for some shirts for Rita Orta. And for his new garments

Advice: specialise in one piece, create something really defined rather than lots of different things

28/09/22

Finished stitching labels onto shirts and dresses. Stitched on the weave designs for the catsuit. Stitched on the weave design for the leg warmers. Started stitching on the labels for leg warmers

29/09/22

Competed the shirts for rita ora. Weaved the design and stitched onto the skirt. Cut out a pattern for catsuit.

Week 2

3/10/22- 7/10/22

Finished the stitching for the turquoise skirt. Cut out cat suits and tops from stretch material

4/10/22

Neatened up the rita ora shirts before they were sent off. Stitched the CRittter labels. Cut out the rest of the patterns for the shirts. Then stitched the labels on the new garments.

6/10/22

Stitched more labels onto done garments. Learned to process of cutting the strips so they are concealed within the design so i can do the whole process independently. i then cut out the remaining line pieces on the fabric. i also took the finished Rita Ora’s tops to her stylist house in Dulwich on the way home.

Week 3

10/10/22-14/10/22

Cut out the strips for the braiding process.

Stitched and started weaving the fabric strips. had a lot of garments to do so i was making these all week. also cut some remaining pattern pieces that needed to be overlocked. doing them for 40 hours a week can get quite repetitive however i am able to watch Netflix while i do it.

Week 4

17/10/22-21/10/22

Went through with Christoph his plans for his photoshoot. the date was booked for 6th November but had to get pushed back as the models he wanted were not available, he was telling me about the struggles of dealing with influencers.

He made an image of all the garments he needed for the shoot so we looked at which parts still needed to be complete and added it to the top of the task list.

From the things that still needed to be done it was mostly the cutting and braiding process which takes quite a long time to complete. about 2/3 hours for each section.

Week 5

24/11/22- 28/11/22

this week i carried on with the weaving process as the garments were almost completed and just the finishings were needed to be complete. i also finished all 7 seasons of Orange Is The New Black on Netflix which i started on my first week of placement.
