Day 1

Started the placement by getting a tour of the facility, as well as the place I’ll be working and getting to know some of the other workers. Went through where fire exits are, first aid kits and what to do in any emergency. I was then shown how to artwork the products and some shortcuts to use on Adobe illustrator. spent the day going through products and are working and getting to know the website.

Day 2

I worked on my Adobe skills more and worked on some photo products and photo editing, as well as using the industrial printers and Duplo cutters.

Day 3

Printed and pressed mugs using the heat press  as well as setting up the heat press for ceramics and photo keyrings.

Day 4

Use the Roland vinyl cutter to print off fabric and paper vinyl. Then use the heat press to press fabric vinyl on two clothing items and bags.

Day 5

Helped with creating some photo products, such as frames and photo boxes, as well as doing some more art working on Adobe illustrator

Day 6

Went back to sublimation area and did some vinyl cutting for Christmas baubles and children’s toy sacks. the vinyl for the baubles often ripped because they were so thin so i had to re print a lot of them. to save some time i also printed a sheet of dots incase any i dots or ”.” were lost during peeling.

Day 7

Was working on sublimation by myself, and my manager re named it subli’mae’tion. There was lots of orders so I ended up staying till 8 pm as there were postage strikes over Christmas so all work had to be complete before the 22nd or they wouldn’t arrive before xmas. However they did Buy us Nando’s for dinner.

Day 8

Finished of sublimation products, like mugs and ceramics, and then helped out on frames and photoproducts

Day 9

Finished of sublimation products, like mugs and ceramics, and then helped out on frames and photo photo products. I completely finished the vinyl products ready for the end of Christmas for postage

Day 10

I was able to cut some of my own vinyl to take home. I also had 50% off all products to be able to make my own mug and glasses for friends and family. then we organised and tidied the studio as it was closed until thee new year.
